Popper Leaves BrainJuicer to Focus on SciFutures
Ari Popper, BrainJuicer's former US President, has opened his own consultancy called SciFutures, which uses emerging technology, cultural trends, and consumer insight to create sci-fi narratives through which to predict the future and its potential implications for marketers.
A self-confessed sci-fi geek and amateur sci-fi writer, Popper (pictured) has set up his new firm to tap into the 'visionary imagination' of science fiction stories, in order to help clients develop forward-looking innovation strategies.
He says that what marketers can learn from sci-fi is the importance of becoming expert storytellers, in order to make 'impossible worlds relevant and desirable'.
His team is comprised of business consultants, marketers, authors, producers, scientists, futurists and academics, who he says are excited and passionate about the future, the power of imagination and creativity, and the potential of emerging technology.
In addition to helping clients with their future strategy, SciFutures also offers workshops through which the team helps clients co-create their own brand stories and scenarios.
Popper has more than 20 years' experience in marketing, consumer research and innovation. For the past six years, he worked for online specialist BrainJuicer as President North America, prior to which, he spent more than seven years at Millward Brown.
