Shopper-Trak Buys ReTel
Retail foot traffic counter Shopper-Trak has announced the acquisition of Silicon Valley-based ReTel Technologies Inc., which provides hybrid video auditing solutions and advanced shopper analysis.
ReTel's technology - which includes the secure auditing of videos to provide advanced reports for retailers - will be integrated with Chicago-based Shopper-Trak's Managed Service's core offering to give retailers rapid access to customer demographics, queue analysis and data on speed-of-service and sales process effectiveness. The acquiring firm says ReTel's San Francisco-based team will also establish its presence in Silicon Valley.
ShopperTrak CMO Ed Marcheselli comments: 'ReTel's technology serves as an ideal complement to our industry-leading people counting service. In addition to our existing suite of retail traffic analytics, ShopperTrak will be offering insight into store performance factors that directly affect both the customer's experience and the retailer's revenue.'
ReTel CEO George Aspland adds: 'ShopperTrak's enhanced Managed Service offering will provide retailers with comprehensive data and analysis for all areas of a retail setting, whether at the door or a space within.'
ShopperTrak was founded in 1995 and now has more than 200 employees with offices in High Wycombe, UK; Dubai, UAE and Shenzhen, China. Web site: www.shoppertrak.com .
