MobileWalla Gets $4m for Mobile Audience Measure
App analytics firm MobileWalla has raised $4m in venture capital to help develop a system for measuring mobile audiences.
Founded in 2011 by Dr Anindya Dutta (pictured) and with offices in the US, India and Singapore, MobileWalla offers a platform through which consumers and mobile industry insiders can obtain insights into the app market. For consumers, the firm rates and ranks apps for a variety of devices, while for the industry, its MobileWalla Analytics solution tracks public ranks and social media sentiments for every app on the Apple iOS and Android platforms.
According to reports in the press, the firm is currently developing an app called Quantcast, which will collect mobile users' demographic data, including age, income and interests.
New funding comes from Madrona Venture Group, with participation from Infocomm Investments, and a number of individuals in the Indian Angel Network.
