Kantar to Merge TRU with The Futures Company
Kantar is to integrate youth research unit TRU into another of its subsidiaries, insight and innovation consultancy The Futures Company.
Chicago-based TRU (Teenage Research Unlimited) was acquired by the then Research International as long ago as 2007. Its founder Peter Zollo is currently CEO but says he will leave the business later this year, once the integration is complete. Zollo will join The Futures Company's North America CEO Kevin Brown in managing the integration process.
Will Galgey, Chief Executive of The Futures Company, says the integration is a natural fit and will create 'more powerful offers and solutions for clients' as well as more varied growth opportunities for staff. He comments: 'The Futures Company helps clients unlock new growth through a focus on the future, while TRU helps clients connect with the generations that are shaping the future. The Futures Company already has a considerable bank of insights into the Boomer, Gen-X, and Millennial generations; the combination with TRU will enable the combined business to offer unrivaled generational expertise.'
Zollo says The Futures Company, 'a business and a brand I've always admired', will be 'a great home for TRU'.
