Text Analytics Firm Synapsify Raises $600k
In the US, text analytics start-up Synapsify has raised $600k in seed funding, which it will use to roll out its technology in the second quarter of this year.
Launched last November by Stephen Candelmo (pictured), the founder of consumer sentiment analytics firm Klaggle, Synapsify uses artificial intelligence and a patented set of linguistic algorithms to analyze the written content on web sites.
Funding was raised by Ingram Content Group-owned ICG Ventures, with support from Fortify Ventures, Middleland Capital, and a group of angel investors.
Candelmo comments: 'The world has become overwhelmed with written content that can no longer be curated and understood solely by costly human moderators, or easily gamed social voting features. Our patented text analytics technology goes beyond simple keyword mentions or one dimensional positive, negative or neutral classifications, bringing value to the market in a new and exciting way.'
