NPD Reshuffles Senior Management
Consumer specialist The NPD Group has reorganized its senior management team as part of its strategy to 'accelerate growth and innovation'.
President and COO Karyn Schoenbart will now manage the IT and Operations functions, while continuing to oversee NPD's Commercial Practice Areas and Product functions around the world.
Steve Coffey, Chief Research Officer, will change his focus from overseeing the firm's Research Science team to a more 'visionary role', concentrating on emerging technology and shifting consumer and retail trends.
Randy Smith moves into the newly created position of Group President, Product Management and Development, from his previous role of Group President, US Food / Automotive / Canada / Latin America. In his new post, Smith will lead all product management and product development within NPD's portfolio of services including consumer and retail tracking services, price evaluation, forecasting, and other business solutions. He will also oversee the firm's Research Science and Advanced Analytics teams.
Finally, Dennis Brown takes up the new role of Group President, Americas Commercial Business - he was previously Group President, Technology and Hardlines. He will now oversee the commercial teams for all industry sectors, including technology, hardlines, softlines, and food in the US, while also managing the firm's Canada and Latin America businesses.
