GfK Hires Sampling Expert
In New York, GfK has appointed Dr Mansour Fahimi as Senior Vice President of Sampling Statistics, to serve as chief statistician for the firm's KnowledgePanel, leading methodological innovation and federally sponsored survey projects.
Fahimi (pictured) has 25 years' experience in survey and market research methods and applications, with particular expertise in dual-frame RDD and address-based sampling methodologies. During his career, he has worked with GfK on its sampling methodology for KnowledgePanel, which the firm claims is the only commercially available online panel derived from a statistically projectable sample of the US population.
Most recently, Dr Fahimi served as VP, Statistical Research Services for Marketing Systems Group, prior to which he held senior statistical positions at RTI International, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Opinion Research Corporation and Westat.
Mike Dennis, MD of Government and Academic Research at GfK, comments: 'Dr Fahimi is keenly familiar with our sampling techniques and has years of experience with post-survey data enhancement procedures and analysis of data from complex surveys. As GfK continues to expand survey research support for its public policy and commercial clients, Mansour will be at the forefront, leading our development of innovative methodologies rooted in sound statistical fundamentals.'
