HG Data Hires Former JupiterResearch CEO
US-based business intelligence company HG Data has appointed former JupiterResearch CEO Tim Baskerville as President, with a remit to scale its data science operation.
Scientists at the Santa Barbara, CA-based company use semantic software to extract, evaluate and categorize business intelligence from hundreds of millions of web documents and off-line sources, to create a database of business relationships. Last month the firm raised $2m in funding, with which to increase the coverage of its cloud-based business intelligence database and expand into the Asia Pacific region.
Baskerville (pictured) previously served as President of media analysis firm Kagan Research, and before this as CEO of JupiterResearch (formerly known as JupiterKagan). He began his career in broadcasting working for CBS and Cox, and later ran his own company which provided data on mobile entertainment and was subsequently acquired by Informa. More recently, he served as General Manager, Paid Content at 1105 Media.
In addition, Baskerville has served on the HG Data Board of Directors since 2011. CEO Craig Harris comments: 'Tim's job will be to scale our data-science operation, more comprehensively serving both data partners and enterprise customers with granular insights on the use of enterprise technology.'
