Gainsight Gets $9m and New CEO
Big data predictive analytics specialist Gainsight has raised $9m in Series A funding, which it plans to invest in product development and roll-out. The firm has also appointed Nick Mehta as Chief Executive Officer, while founder Jim Eberlin has moved to a dedicated product strategy role.
Gainsight offers a 'customer success management' solution which uses big data analytics to evaluate sales data, usage logs, support tickets, surveys and other sources of customer intelligence. The firm's funding has been led by Battery Ventures.
Mehta (pictured) joins from SaaS e-mail archiving specialist LiveOffice where he served as CEO, and led the firm's sale to Symantec in 2012. Earlier, he served as Director, Product Management, CommandCentral at Veritas Software, and Director, Product Management at XDegrees (acquired by Microsoft).
Mehta comments: 'Data is transforming industries and business processes around the world. Yet many companies today still don't leverage data to understand their existing customers after they come on board. Gainsight's mission is to help businesses of all sizes reduce customer churn, drive up-sell and maximize customer satisfaction by using big data analytics to power insight and action.'
