Placed Maps Panel's Real World Movements
Location analytics firm Placed has launched a new solution called Placed Insights which measures the geographic locations visited by more than 70,000 panelists a day.
Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Seattle, the firm develops software which measures, aggregates and analyzes the paths and places people visit in the real world, providing app developers with insights into how users interact with their products. Placed Insights uses a 'place graph' to quantify the relationship between people and the physical places they visit. These include more than 130 US businesses and 1,000 venues such as retailers, restaurants, banks, hotels and more, and results are categorized by demographic segments and geographic regions.
Raw location data is combined with metadata and proprietary modeling, and data is then normalized to represent the US population. To date, the firm has measured visits to more than 13 billion locations, averaging 1,000 locations measured per panelist.
Founder and CEO David Shim comments: 'Placed Insights gives retailers, brands, advertisers and publishers a direct view into the offline visitation trends and characteristics of their customers and their competitors delivered in near real-time. For the first time, consumers' offline behaviors can be quantified with the same precision and granularity that have guided online analytics for more than a decade.'
