AbsolutData Opens in Dubai, Ramps Up in UK
US-based analytics and research firm AbsolutData has opened an office in Dubai, where it has hired industry veteran Karan Dixit as Head of the Middle East region. The firm has also expanded its UK leadership team with the appointment of three senior execs.
Founded in 2001, AbsolutData offers big data and business analytics, modelling, reporting and data management from US offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago, as well as operations in Gurgaon, India, and London, UK.
In addition to supporting AbsolutData's global client base, the new office, located in Dubai's Jumeriah Lake Towers, will enable the firm to enhance the level of support available in the Middle East. Dixit joins from IT/telecoms market insights specialist IDC, where he served as Director, Business Development - MEA, prior to which, he held senior roles at Polaris Software Labs, and Servion Global Solutions.

In the UK, Balazs Vertes joins as Director of Business Development, after a brief stint as Senior Insight Manager at Red Bull, prior to which, he served as Head of Insight - EMEA at BT Global Services, and co-founded GKI Economic Research's trend research arm GKIeNet Internet Research and Consulting.
Mario de Luca joins as Director of Client Development after 15 years' business development experience across a range of industries. Most recently, he served as Business Development Consultant at media company Top Right Group, before which, he worked as Strategic Sales Director at Beyond Analysis, and held new business development roles at Sky IQ Customer Intelligence Services, and Experian.
As Director of Analytics for EMEA, Eli Kling, will oversee the application of advanced statistical techniques. During his career, he has held analytics and modelling roles at GSK, British Gas, and The Office for National Statistics, and he supported a geo-demographic segmentation solution for GeoBusiness (AtomiCube) using information from the 2001 UK Census.
