WPP Strikes Twitter Data Deal
Marcoms giant WPP has agreed a global partnership with Twitter and will use its data to give clients 'more effective campaigns, enhanced targeting, and more real-time insight'.
Through the alliance, the firms will launch new data products and services, integrate Twitter data into certain WPP media and analytics platforms, deliver training for staff in the application of these new capabilities, and provide a partnership approach to key clients and markets.
The deal will span several WPP units including consumer insight business Kantar as well as media investment management firm GroupM and digital agencies such as Wunderman.
CEO Sir Martin Sorrell comments: 'Twitter's relevance continues to grow - not only as a social platform, but also as a window into consumer attitudes and behaviour in real time. We are delighted to announce this very wide-ranging strategic partnership and to ensure that Twitter data is a key ingredient in many of our disciplines.'
Twitter CEO Dick Costolo (pictured) says clients will benefit from WPP's analytics, targeting and creative capabilities.
