Guavus Buys Broadband Specialist Pipeline
Telecoms sector big data specialist Guavus has bought broadband intelligence platform Pipeline from software developer Applied Broadband. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Guavus says the Pipeline platform, which enables cable operators to collect and analyze IP data, provides a 'comprehensive view' of networks, services, devices and subscribers. Created by broadband network architecture specialist Applied Broadband, Pipeline is currently licensed by seven of the top ten MSOs (multiple system operators) in North America.
So far this year, Guavus has raised $120m in investor funding, which it is partly using to pursue 'select' acquisitions, and in January it bought mobile data solutions provider Neuralitic Systems. The new acquisition will enable it to help MSOs identify subscriber segments to upsell to and those with a propensity to churn; categorize usage analytics by susbscriber segment and pricing tier; and conduct consumption analysis to identify appropriate prospects.
Anukool Lakhina (pictured), founder and CEO of Guavus, comments: 'This acquisition further solidifies Guavus' commitment to providing comprehensive solutions specific to MSOs. Because Guavus provides an end-to-end solution, integrated with a suite of decisioning applications, cable operators get customizable and scalable solutions to market quickly and create repeatable opportunities to improve the network, proactively engage with customers and optimize their product offerings.'
