Ipsos Opens SMX Social Media Research Division
Ipsos has launched a social media research and communities division called Ipsos SMX (Social Media Exchange), to provide clients with new approaches to market research into consumer engagement and interaction.
Developed by the firm's Global Innovation Center, the division's platform will initially deliver insights via online communities and social media listening, with plans to add new solutions and techniques soon.
The division will be led by Andrew Leary (pictured), the founder of online community specialist Passenger, who since joining Ipsos in 2010 has served as EVP, Global Innovation Center, overseeing survey design, mobile apps, web listening and communities. His new team comprises online community specialists, social media experts and thought leaders from around the globe, says Ipsos.
Co-President and founder Didier Truchot explains: 'Communities and social media research continue to be the fastest growing techniques in market research. By complementing our existing research portfolio and global footprint, the social expertise of Ipsos SMX will put us in a clear leadership position.'
Initially, Ipsos SMX is being rolled out in the US, the UK, France, Germany and China, with additional resources in ten other countries.
