Flamingo Expands to India
UK-based consumer and cultural insight agency Flamingo is opening a sixth international office next month in Mumbai, adding to bases in London, New York, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo.
Flamingo was founded in 1997 by Kirsty Fuller and Maggie Collier and acquired by media and marketing holding group Omnicom a decade later.
Its new office will be led by long-time director David Burrows (pictured), who takes on the role of CEO Flamingo Mumbai, where he will be supported by former London-based colleagues Lavanya Jayashankar and Bhavita Trivedi; and by anthropologist Latika Neelakantan, who will join the firm from Quantum Consumer Solutions.
Burrows explains: 'We have been working in India for many years out of our other hubs in London and Singapore, but more and more clients have been saying: 'So when are you opening in India?' They seem to think we have something rather unique to offer, and we're excited to now be bringing our particular blend of cultural insight and strategic thinking to Mumbai.'
