Contexti Names Chief Data Scientist
In Australia, big data analytics company Contexti has appointed Ernst & Young's former Director of Predictive Business Intelligence Dr Eugene Dubossarsky as Chief Data Scientist, to lead and grow the firm's capabilities.
Contexti's platform provides big data analytics as a service, from the cloud. The firm, which was founded last summer by former KPMG consultant Sidney Minassian, also offers data science, modelling and business intelligence services, along with Hadoop and related training programmes.
Dubossarsky (pictured) joins with a background in pure mathematics and a PhD in Computing Science from University of Technology, Sydney. During his career, he has co-founded a number of organisations and industry bodies including Analyst First and the Institute of Analytics Professionals of Australia (IAPA). He also served as a Partner at business analytics specialist Presciient, Director of Predictive Business Intelligence at Ernst & Young, and Senior Statistician at Insureware.
