Semantic Analysis Firm Parse.ly Raises $5m
Web content analytics specialist Parse.ly has closed a $5m Series A round of funding, which it will use to extend its semantic data analytics platform.
Founded in 2009, the New York-based company provides a dashboard through which editorial and audience development teams can view which online content generates the most reader interest. The company also shares the aggregated trends it pinpoints across the Parse.ly network of publishers, and produces an 'Authority Report' to provide information about what readers want, where they discover content, and how they are sharing it.
New funding was led by Grotech Ventures, with participation from Blumberg Capital, ff Venture Capital, and FundersClub.
Parse.ly CEO Sachin Kamdar (pictured) commented in the firm's blog: 'Our mission is to unlock the power of content through data and analytics. We've proven that accessible analytics with serious backend technology can be extremely valuable for a wide variety of content sites over the last couple of years. Now, we have the resources to take the next step in empowering media.'
