Aegis Buys Spain's Ymedia
Aegis Media has acquired Spanish full service comms agency Ymedia, whose offer includes research, strategy, planning and buying, brand content creation, direct response and modeling services. Terms were not disclosed.
 Madrid-based Ymedia was founded in 2006 by former Publicis managers José María Casero, Jaime López-Francos, Sergio Martinez and Miguel Angel Nieto and former Heineken exec Juan Casero. Through the acquisition, Aegis Media will integrate its network brand Vizeum into Ymedia's offering. López-Francos continues as CEO, supported by Martínez as CFO, while Casero continues to act as non-executive Chairman.
López-Francos (pictured) comments: 'Ymedia was looking for a strategic partner with which to continue growing, one who would permit us to continue developing our vision and management style. Our success is based on the result of our unique way of working and through the deal with Aegis, we can maintain our culture.'
