Federated Sample's Fulcrum Goes Mobile
US-based research technology firm Federated Sample has adapted its 'Fulcrum' sample management and exchange platform to work on almost any mobile device, matching respondents with the most appropriate surveys for their device type.
The company was launched in 2010 by New Orleans-based research technology start-up Jackson Square Group (JSG), and offers technology for sampling automation. In 2011, the firm raised $2.8m in Series A funding, which it has since used to roll out the Fulcrum platform.
The platform has now been optimized to detect, route and render on almost any device, and offer targeting by operating system, browser, device type and device name. According to the firm, mobile routing provides the ability to exclude mobile users or select smartphone users on eight separate data points. Through the improvements, Fulcrum says it can systematically match respondents with the 'best surveys' in response to their device type and capabilities.
CEO Patrick Comer (pictured) explains: 'Not only does Fulcrum's mobile release simplify and streamline usability across devices, it also lays the groundwork for optimized mobile routing based on device type and size. Our industry is moving toward a mobile reality, and we want to make sure our technology is ready to support our clients through this transition.'
