Populus Posts 52% Revenue Rise
UK-based research and consulting firm Populus has reported a 52% increase in revenue to £5.86m for fiscal year 2013. During the period, pre-tax profits rose from c.£360k to just under £550k.
Populus, which was founded in 2003 by former Tory party staff Michael Simmonds (pictured), Andrew Cooper and Rick Nye, is best known for its work in polling and political research.
In the last financial year, revenue from the company's omnibus service grew by more than £800,000, while its customer and consumer research accounted for just over £2m in turnover.
Simmonds comments: 'This is a very strong set of results reflecting the success of the strategy we agreed two years ago. All areas of the business have exceeded their targets and our investment in Populus Data Solutions, our online and CATI field and tab company, continues to contribute significantly to the group's financial strength.'
