Millward Brown's Fuentes to Become LatAm CEO

Millward Brown has appointed Gonzalo Fuentes as Chief Executive Officer of its Latin American business, succeeding Fabian Hernandez who will retire in early 2014.

Fuentes is a 20-year research veteran, who has led the company's growth in Southeast Asia since 2005, launching businesses in Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, and most recently Myanmar. He joined the company in 2002, prior to which he held senior roles at ERGO (acquired by Millward Brown in 2000) in Spain, and at Research International in London.

In his new post, Fuentes will join the company's global Board, and report to CEO Travyn Rhall, who comments: 'Having worked closely with Gonzalo over the past seven years, I know that his experience in emerging markets and proven leadership skills, will make a significant impact on our business in Latin America. He has done an outstanding job with our team and our clients in Southeast Asia and I am delighted he will have the opportunity to build on this in his new role.'

Hernandez is leaving the company after fifteen years and a 35-year market research career. During his time with the company, he has been responsible for Millward Brown's businesses across Latin America, including those in Central America, and he previously led the firm in Mexico. Earlier, he spent fifteen years at Nielsen in Mexico, serving as Director of Custom Research and launching the company's Radio Audience Measurement service. Before this, he was MD of Asesorķa e Investigaciones Gamma. In addition, he taught probability, mathematical statistics, and survey sampling at ITMA (The Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico) for many years.
