IRI and INTAGE Share Retail / POS Data
Retail data giant Information Resources, Inc. (IRI) has formed an agreement with Japanese research no.1 INTAGE, giving the former's clients access to Japanese POS data and the latter use of IRI's data and services from other markets.
INTAGE's POS data will now be available via IRI's Global Executive Market Reviews (GEMs) service, which provides customized reports based on the retail data the firm collects from grocery, drug and other available CPG retailers across multiple countries. Japanese data will now be added to coverage of the US and Europe's big 5 economies, plus Australia and New Zealand, Greece, the Netherlands and Puerto Rico.
IRI President and CEO Andrew Appel says the deal 'underscores IRI's ongoing commitment to providing globally oriented solutions and insights to our multi-national clients.' Susumu Yokota, Senior Executive Director of INTAGE, comments: 'We always value the partnership we have had with IRI and are happy to have formalized this new agreement today.'
