SurveyMonkey to Open in London's 'Tech City'
Palo Alto, CA-based online DIY research specialist SurveyMonkey is planning to open an office in London's Tech City, where it will hire up to 50 sales, marketing and business development specialists.
SurveyMonkey provides online subscription-based tools that enable individuals to create surveys, collect responses and analyze survey results. Last month, the firm launched an Enterprise version, for companies wanting to gather, compare and share business-related feedback data.
Founded in 1999 by brothers Ryan and Chris Finley, the company currently has more than 280 employees, based in the US, Luxembourg and Portugal. CEO Dave Goldberg (pictured) explains that the decision to invest in the UK was partly driven by the firm's 'significant' base of clients in the country, where it currently serves more than 1.5 million users.
Goldberg says the new office, due to open in the first quarter of 2014, will be SurveyMonkey's largest outside of the US: 'It's a really exciting time for tech companies in the UK. Tech City is now globally renowned with a number of Valley companies making it the first port of call outside San Francisco.'
