Keith Bates to Leave Creston

UK-based insight and communications group Creston plc has announced that Keith Bates is to step down from the role of Head of Creston Insight, seeking 'new challenges' outside the Group.

Keith BatesBates was co-owner of Winchester-based Marketing Sciences when it became the first company Creston acquired back in early 2001, and has continued to lead it through a sustained period of growth within Creston, including the successful integration of the MSTS sensory business from 2008.

Since 2010 Bates has been a member of Creston's Executive Board, with responsibility for the Insight division, helping to guide the Group's strategy, and applying his experience to steer the successful recovery of ICM. He has also been instrumental in bringing the Insight division's businesses closer, backing co-operation and integration and supporting the Group's Better Together initiative.

Creston said Bates had decided 'now was the right time to seek new challenges outside Creston', with the the Insight division now in good shape and with growth opportunities under an experienced management team. Bates himself comments: 'I have enjoyed a fantastic period of 24 years at Marketing Sciences, both in terms of the challenges and thrills of growing a private company and the satisfaction of contributing to the wider Creston Group. I have been fortunate to have worked with some very talented people and will miss my colleagues. At the same time, I am excited about the next stage of my career.' At present DRNO has no information on his next move.

Creston Chief Executive Don Elgie wished Bates well 'for the next phase of his career' and said: 'I would like to thank Keith personally for all his hard work and dedication during his time at Marketing Sciences and Creston and for the significant contribution he has made to the company's success.'
