FTC Opens Nielsen / comScore Cross-Platform Agreement
Nielsen and comScore have agreed terms in accordance with the order made by the FTC as a condition for the former's recent acquisition of Arbitron, concerning the continuation of a cross-platform project also involving ESPN. The FTC is now allowing time for public comment.
The condition agreed in September relates to Arbitron's cross-platform project with comScore and broadcaster ESPN, launched in September 2012. Nielsen and comScore have now submitted a signed agreement to the FTC for approval, setting out how the former will license its LinkMeter technology to comScore. In a statement, the audience research giant said: 'With our best-in-class resources, our deep knowledge of video, and our commitment to innovation, we at Nielsen expect to help the market define cross-platform measurement and further execute on our strategy at a rapid rate.'
The agreement will be open for public comment until February 24th.
Nielsen has its headquarters in New York, USA and Diemen, the Netherlands, and a global home page at www.nielsen.com .
