Sightly Raises Funds for Video Ad Targeting Platform
In the US, video ad targeting specialist Sightly has raised $1.7m in a seed funding round, which it says it will use to expand products to meet the needs of its multi-location businesses and channel partners.
Founded in 2006 by industry veterans John McIntyre and John Zdanowski, San Diego-based Sightly offers technology which uses video to connect consumers and local businesses, and helps advertisers target audiences through YouTube and other online and mobile video networks. It also gathers local audience intelligence to inform ad creative, targeting and media spend.
The latest round of funding was led by New York-based Mack Capital, with participation by investors including Tomorrow Ventures and 500 Startups, adding to the $5.6m in venture capital Sightly raised in 2012.
McIntyre comments: 'This investment helps us continue pioneering the concept of local targeted video as more and more advertisers recognize that messages tailored for their specific markets are more effective in engaging their target audiences.'
