Walter is New CEO at Commetric
Media analysis and business intelligence firm Commetric has appointed former GMI exec Dietmar Walter as its new CEO, effective today.
Commetric was founded in 2005 and specialises in providing customised media and social media analytics, with the aid of patented natural language processing and data visualisation technologies. The firm has sales and service operations in the UK, USA, Middle East and Asia, and an analytics and R&D office in Bulgaria.
Walter worked most recently as a strategy adviser to big data analysis start-up Sigmaspecto. He worked at GMI from 2005 until its sale to Kantar in late 2011, latterly as VP International, and was responsible for establishing and growing its operations in the UK, continental Europe and Asia. Prior to GMI he worked at Gartner for four years, responsible for IT Research and Consulting for banking and tech clients.
He joins a newly strengthened board which comprises Chairman and co-founder Christofer Solheim; former CEO and Factiva/Dow-Jones veteran Chris Shaw; co-founder Tony Burgess-Webb, formerly global CMO with Hill & Knowlton; and Mark Firth, ex PwC, who joined Commetric as CFO in 2013.
Solheim comments: 'We're already growing rapidly and Dietmar has exactly the right experience and drive to accelerate the global expansion of our business and take our advanced analytics offerings into new markets.'
