DJS Launches Population Profiling Tool
North of England-based DJS Research has launched a population segmentation tool called Localise, which uses street level census data to create profiles matching a required region.
The new tool can be integrated with any form of data which contains a post code, including for example CRM, spending, crime, healthcare and survey data. These results are then mapped geographically and distinctions can be made between individual streets.
In the private sector, DJS says the product could be used for targeted marketing campaigns, and detailed local consumer demographics for retailers looking to build new outlets; in the public sector, it offers help to local authorities seeking to cut expenditure on resources which are not currently serving the correct demographics.
Research Director Alasdair Gleed comments: 'We have worked with numerous clients who appreciate the value that profiling can have but are frustrated by the limitations of tools which currently exist to do this. Localise solves these problems and should lead to a far more accurate, and thus more useable, set of profiling data for local areas.'
