Audience Measurement Firm TVbeat Raises $2m
London-based TV audience measurement startup TVbeat has secured $2m in funding, which it plans to use to develop its real-time big data TV analytics system and roll it out across Europe.
Launched last year as Iptvbeat and quickly renamed, the company uses live data about customer interactions from connected set-top-boxes and other connected devices, to produce 'actionable insights' and provide ratings to broadcasters, advertisers and pay TV providers. New funding has been led by London-based Episode 1 and Czech-based Credo Ventures.
Having already piloted its services, with broadcasters, advertisers and pay TV platforms in Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia, founder Robert Farazin (pictured) says he now has plans to expand further in Europe this year.
Farazin adds: 'We are already measuring over fifteen million customer interactions per day, on all digital platforms, regardless of how and where video is consumed. This volume of data can give TV editors, programme directors and marketing teams the kind of precise audience insight they could only have dreamt about in the past.'
