Viamedia Strengthens Research Team
In the US, TV ad services company Viamedia has appointed Jonathan Sims as Vice President of Media Research. He joins recently appointed President and CEO Mark Lieberman, his former colleague from TRA.
Headquartered in New York City, NY and Lexington, KY, Viamedia specializes in selling DMA-based advertising to local, regional and national advertisers on behalf of cable and telecoms service providers, utility companies and municipalities. Audience measurement pioneer Lieberman, co-founder and former CEO of TV analytics firm TRA, joined the firm in the top jobs two months ago.
Sims (pictured) is a specialist in ROI measurement and multi-platform engagement, with a career spanning leadership positions in cable, research supplier, CPG, technology and advertising sectors. In his new role he will oversee Viamedia's research departments, develop its audience positioning and drive revenue. He reports to Becky Jones, recently promoted to Senior Vice President Marketing & Research.
He was previously VP, Product Management at TRA, helping steer the creation of new revenue generating products and features for the audience tracker's web-based technology platform, Media TRAnalystics. Before this, he worked as Head of Corporate Research at Comcast Spotlight; and worked at Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau, AGB Nielsen Media Research, Kraft Foods, Lever Bros., Microsoft, Navic, and Foote, Cone & Belding. He is widely published and has served on the MRC Board of Directors and Nielsen's Council for Research Excellence.
According to Lieberman: 'Viamedia has undergone unprecedented changes and growth. We are a new company with a new direction and new leadership, and we are thrilled to have Jonathan, his insights and forward thinking strategies. Jonathan will further bolster our ability to use Big Data to insure that the right consumers are seeing the right local ads at the right time.'
