Gemius to Measure Audiences in Belgium and Luxemburg
Digital research agency Gemius has been named as the official provider of Internet audience measurement in Belgium and Luxembourg, replacing TNS which was awarded the contract in 2012. The new deal will also last for two years, with an option to extend further.
Centre d'Information sur les Médias (CIM), the Belgian Joint Industry Committee which is responsible for currency research into all above-the-line media across the country, selected Gemius without a tendering process. Stef Peeters, General Manager at CIM, said his organisation is looking forward to collaborating with Gemius, to find 'pragmatic measurement solutions in the fast evolving Internet'.
The TNS contract included measuring traffic from mobile devices and providing online TV viewing figures, monthly reach data and daily audience estimates based on the online activity of a panel.
Gemius CEO Piotr Ejdys (pictured) comments: 'CIM has decided to use our services because they saw our competitive advantage in the fact that we deliver customer-tailored solutions that can be adjusted to specific local needs. Furthermore, our brand is a guarantee of good methodology and infrastructure.'
