Composition of New ESOMAR Council
At this week's ESOMAR Annual Congress, Fredrik Nauckhoff, Head of Market Intelligence & Consumer Insight at Nestlé, Switzerland has been named as new ESOMAR President for the period 2003-2004.
José Ignacio Wert, Chairman & CEO of DEMOSCOPIA, Spain becomes ESOMAR's new Vice-President. He is currently Treasurer of the Association and a member of the Council. Both were elected unopposed.
According to Nauckhoff, who is currently the Society's Vice President, 'This provides an opportunity for me to support further plans to encourage participation of ESOMAR members in the activities of market intelligence, as a broader strategic role. We researchers should encompass market research, competitive analysis, customer analysis and other related areas'.
Eugênia Paesani, President of EP - Escritório de Pesquisa Eugênia Paesani, Brazil and Gunilla Broadbent President Worldwide Services of BAIGlobal (now part of Synovate), USA were elected unopposed as the two council members from outside Europe.
A ballot of ESOMAR members will be run in the coming period to elect the other six European Council Members. Seven candidates are standing: Jacqueline Aglietta, France, Wlodek Daab, Poland, Ann Margreth Hellberg, Sweden, Siegfried Högl, Germany, Clara Origlia, Italy, Adam Phillips, UK and Frits Spangenberg, Netherlands.
Following the election, the full composition of the new ESOMAR council will be announced in December and the new council will take office from January 2003.
