AQR Trends Day Keynote Speakers
The Association for Qualitative Research (AQR) has just announced the keynote speakers who will address its annual conference, Trends Day, due to take place on 29 November 2002.
Charles Leadbeater, independent writer, and Professor Patricia Shaw, Co-founder and Associate Director of the Complexity and Management Centre at the Business School of the University of Hertfordshire, will be among the speakers addressing delegates at this year's conference.
Author of the recent book - 'Up the Down Escalator. Why the Global Pessimists are wrong' - Charles Leadbeater is an ideas generator, independent writer and advisor to leading European companies. His work has included advising a wide range of leading companies such as Ericsson, Accenture and British Telecom as well as being an advisor to the Downing Street Policy Unit and the Department of Trade and Industry on the Internet and the knowledge-driven economy.
Professor Patricia Shaw has 19 years' experience as an independent organisational consultant, working closely with global corporations, public and voluntary organisations and government agencies to help them develop new ways to approach change. She is also author of a recently released book, 'Changing Conversations in Organisations.' Using her approaches to organisational learning, creativity and change, based on insights from the Complexity Sciences, Patricia will host an Interactive Forum taking place at this year's conference, which will give delegates the opportunity to explore new thinking and challenges for qualitative practitioners.

Other confirmed speakers include: Paul Vittles, Managing Director of RBA Research, whose presentation will be entitled 'Beyond expectations - Research as a Life-Changing Experience'; Dr David Smith, Chairman of Citigate DVL Smith and Visiting Professor, University of Hertfordshire Business School, who will be speaking on the role of qualitative researchers in the development of new holistic frameworks for the analysis of market research data; and Martin Bontoft, Head of Human Factors at design consultancy, IDEO.
