Adarkar Named MD of Ipsos India
Ipsos has promoted Amit Adarkar to the position of Country Manager and Managing Director in India, replacing Mick Gordon who will take up a senior regional role within the company.
Adarkar (pictured) joined the firm in 2013 as MD of Ipsos InnoQuest, after serving as Vice President of Nielsen's forecasting and NPD unit Nielsen BASES. Prior to this, he was MD of Market Probe's India & Middle East operations, and before this he worked as Mumbai Brand Head for Synovate. He began his career with IMRB, and later worked for Nielsen companies ORG-MARG and ACNielsen.
Commenting on Adarkar's appointment, Gordon said: 'I am confident that with Amit's experience and expertise, Ipsos will continue to delight our clients, and he will prove to be an immensely capable successor.'
Gordon has been CEO of Ipsos in India since November 2011 and was previously MD of Synovate India. He began his market research career in 1996 when he joined Sample Surveys in Kent, UK, and he was Finance Director of the firm when it was acquired by Synovate in 2002. He then became Finance Director at Synovate before becoming Head of Business Services and leading the Consumer Services account group.
