New Employee Research Tool from TNS
Taylor Nelson Sofres (TNS) has just announced the launch of 'EmployeeScore', a new approach for measuring employee satisfaction and commitment in Britain.
EmployeeScore aims to provide companies with improved employee insight, helping to reduce employee turnover and increase the performance of individuals and the company as a whole. In contrast to the traditional employee satisfaction measures currently available, EmployeeScore measures underlying commitment not only to the company, but also to the type of work that individual members of staff are involved in.
According to Cynthia Pinto, TNS' Product Champion for EmployeeScore in Britain, 'Most existing employee satisfaction studies are based on a false premise. We know that employees who are rated as 'satisfied' on current measures often leave companies, while 'dissatisfieds' don't always defect. In other words, a satisfied workforce is not necessarily a committed or hardworking one. Employee satisfaction is important but may not be a sufficient indicator of what employees are really thinking. Companies also need to measure other factors, such as the extent to which employees care about the company or whether they are in two minds about their jobs, to understand an employee's state of mind.'
'Companies in Britain spend millions of pounds each year on the selection, training and development of talented employees and they understandably want to see a return on their investment. By using EmployeeScore, companies can develop strong staff retention and motivation strategies by identifying potential trouble spots - employees who are unhappy in their particular roles or unhappy with the company in general'.
