JWT Buys Major Share in Brazilian User Experience Firm
WPP marcoms agency JWT has acquired a majority stake in Sao Paulo-based user experience agency Try, also known as Cairos Usabilidade Eireli. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Try conducts usability testing and research, along with contextual analysis, to support the design and development of custom web, mobile, desktop and touch-enabled applications. Founded in 2003 by UX specialist Maria Ercilia Galvão Bueno (pictured), the company employs 22 people.
For the year ended 31st December 2013, the firm's revenues were approximately R$2.5m (US1.12m). In a statement, WPP said the acquisition continues its strategy of developing its networks throughout the Brazilian market, where it generates revenues of US$650m and employs almost 6,000 people.
