MR Publication Inside Research Shuts Up Shop
Larry Gold, the publisher of market research industry journal Inside Research, has discontinued operations after twenty four years in business, following distribution of the journal's final edition last week.
The monthly publication was founded in 1990 by researcher and journalist Jack Honomichl to report on industry events, company business activities, personnel changes and financial news. He was later joined by former ARF Research Director and Nielsen exec Larry Gold (pictured), who took up the role of Editor and publisher in 1994.
In addition to publishing industry news, the pair produced the Honomichl Report (now known as the AMA Gold Report), to provide analysis and ranking of the top 50 revenue-generating US and top 25 global MR firms. Following Honomichl's death last December, the report was re-named according to his wishes and as a homage to Gold, who co-produced the report for the past two decades.
While Gold will no longer publish Inside Research, once described by financial magazine Barron's as 'The Bible of the Market Research Industry', he will continue to assemble the AMA Gold Top 50 and Global Top 25 reports for AMA's Marketing News.
