dunnhumby Ventures Invests in Content Analytics
Investment vehicle dunnhumby Ventures has participated in a $4m Series A round of funding for eCommerce analytics firm Content Analytics, which will use the investment to scale its sales and marketing and expand its engineering team.
Founded by big data specialist David Feinleib (pictured),Content Analytics uses proprietary data crawler technology to collect eCommerce data, then applies natural language processing algorithms to match products across sites. The service instantly producing metrics that can be used to promote products, as well as descriptors that boost ratings and listings.
New funding has been led by previous investor Almaz Capital, with participation from dunnhumby Ventures, and adds to a $1.5m previous seed round.
Dave Balter, Global Head of Investments at dunnhumby, says the firm's solution is 'aimed at eCommerce and brand managers so that they can quickly pinpoint listings that are poorly represented, and provides recommendations on how to improve.'
