Demographix Rolls Out Survey Weighting Tool
London-based online survey and panel management specialist Demographix has added a weighting tool to its suite of analysis products.
The firm develops research tools for the publishing, broadcast, health, public, academic and hospitality sectors. These can be used for survey building and panel management, and the company also offers real-time statistics, analysis and reporting.
The new weighting tool offers a list of available weights tables created for a survey, showing which questions have been used to define the weighting, and the actions available for it. Through a 'create a new weighting' button, a pop-up will display a breakdown of the data actually collected by the survey showing the percentage of respondents who fit into each category; desired distribution; and weights that will be applied to the survey data. Weighted analysis then appears in a separate pop-up, so that it can be placed side-by-side with the unweighted 'Analysis of Responses' pop-up. In addition, weighted data analysis can be cross tabbed in the same way as unweighted data, and reports can be generated in both Excel and PDF formats.
The tool is being made available at no extra cost to customers, and complements existing Demographix tools Derived Variables (released earlier this year), Crosstabs and Filters.
CEO Derek Cohen (pictured) comments: 'Our development initiative to give all our customers a full and extensive range of data research tools is now complete. A weighting tool had been on many wish lists, and we have now delivered it, after extensive testing with key customers.'
