TNS Names New UK CEO and Political / Social Head
TNS has announced the appointment of Will Galgey, formerly of The Futures Company (TFC) as UK CEO from mid-January 2015, following the departure of Maureen Duffy earlier in the week. Separately, Michelle Harrison will become Global Head of Political and Social at the beginning of the year.
Galgey replaces Duffy, who has left the company for unknown reasons. He currently serves as Global CEO of Kantar sister company TFC, and has worked for the company since 2008, taking up his existing role in 2010. Galgey began his career on the WPP Fellowship programme, and is a founding member of the global Board that created TFC, following the merger of Henley Centre HeadlightVision and Yankelovich in 2008.
In his new role, he will report to TNS Global CEO Richard Ingleton, and have overall responsibility for the strategy, culture and performance of the TNS UK business.
Harrison began her career in academia and then joined TFC as a Consultant in 1997, where she latterly worked as Head of Public Sector consultancy. She then joined Kantar-owned agency BMRB in 2009, and now serves as CEO of TNS BMRB, while working for WPP as Head of Government & Public Sector Practice. In her new role, she will be tasked with extending the Political and Social practice into emerging markets worldwide. She will replace Leendert De Voogd, who has taken up the position of CEO of social media intelligence firm Vigiglobe in France.
Ingleton comments: 'Will brings a wealth of experience to the role of CEO for TNS UK, and he will undoubtedly make a tremendous impact to our clients and create new sources of competitive distinction to help facilitate their growth. Michelle's extensive experience and proven track record make her the ideal candidate for the role, and I have every confidence that she will lead this practice towards a new phase of growth and secure TNS' position as the number one advisor to decision makers and governments around the world.'
