Assembly Hires Beck to Build Research Team
New York-based media agency Assembly has hired media research specialist Paul Beck for the new position of EVP, Director of Strategic Services, with a remit to build an Analytics and Traditional Media Research division.
Assembly was created earlier this year by the merger of parent firm MDC's TargetCast and RJ Palmer media agencies. Beck (pictured) joins from sister agency Attention Partners, where he was COO. Prior to this he served as VP of Audiences & Engagement at digital market specialist LBi, overseeing the social media, search, paid media and analytics teams; he was EVP Worldwide Marketing at film production company Illumination Entertainment, and he worked at Ogilvy Worldwide as Senior Partner, Worldwide Executive Director, Digital.
In his new role, Beck will build and manage a division offering analytics, traditional media research, social media and communications strategy. Initially he will lead a team of 25 executives, who will be responsible for research/strategy, trends and insights, reporting, measurement, and optimization - but the number is expected to double within the next six to twelve months.
Jeff Brooks, Chief Commercial Officer, comments: 'I love that Paul doesn't look like your typical media strategy or research guy because we're not your typical media agency. He is fascinated by connections and ultimately that's where great insights are found. We're fortunate to have him join our leadership team.'
