Omnicom Buys DDC Advocacy
Marcoms group Omnicom has acquired Washington DC-based DDC Advocacy, which uses data-driven insights to conduct advocacy campaigns for business and nonprofit clients. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 1996 by B.R. McConnon (pictured), DDC Advocacy offer services including strategic planning and media buying; market research, including audience modeling and microtargeting, geospatial and social media; and database cluster/mapping analyses. It also offers a proprietary 'Democracy Direct' constituent relationship management tool, which uses data-driven insights to conduct campaign-style client advocacy programs.
The firm will now become part of Omnicom's DAS (Diversified Agency Services) group of companies, whose research arm includes agencies Communispace, The Modellers, Flamingo, Hall & Partners, M/A/R/C Research, and maslansky + partners.
DAS Chairman and CEO Dale Adams says DDC is 'a data-driven consulting company that knows how to use highly relevant data for targeting and campaign activation', and continues: 'This acquisition is consistent with Omnicom's overarching strategy to leverage data and insights to achieve the best possible outcomes for our clients and their brands.'
