Sorenson Media Launches Digital TV Measures
As part of its expansion into the television sector, US firm Sorenson Media has launched a suite of digitally-enabled TV measurement, targeting and analytics products called Spark.
Founded in 1995, Sorenson develops digital TV and video solutions including the 'Squeeze' range of encoding and streaming products which are used to bring quality video to connected devices. Its new Spark suite comprises three solutions: Spark Enlight, which offers digital TV measurement services; and Spark Enhance and Spark Engage, which enable digital targeting, personalization and interactivity across TV advertising and programming respectively.
President and CEO Marcus Liassides (pictured) explains: 'With Spark, consumers will be able to access a local broadcaster's catch-up and VoD content at the click of a button, take part in interactive content such as polls, quizzes and contests, and even claim discounts and coupons by clicking on TV ads with their remote control or smartphone.'
The new services are currently being piloted across Smart TVs by various US broadcast groups, agencies and advertisers, with initial roll-out due to take place in the Salt Lake City market.
