ABN Impact Hires Thompson to Head Indonesia Launch
Asian market research consultancy ABN Impact has appointed Kurt Thompson to launch operations in Indonesia.
The firm was founded as abn Research in 2010 in Bangkok by Brooke Courtenay and CEO Maz Amirahmadi, and renamed ABN Impact three years ago. It also has an office in Hong Kong and added one in Singapore in 2013, and another in Shanghai last May.
Thompson (pictured) joins in Jakarta in the new role of Managing Director ABN Impact Indonesia, having previously worked at Ipsos Poland, where he led the management team for the past three years. Prior to this, he was at Synovate for fifteen years; latterly as CEO, Central/Eastern Europe & The Middle East, and earlier, as MD for Synovate Korea Limited. He began his career as a Research Executive at Audience Selection.
Commenting on the appointment, Chairman Adrian Chedore said: 'The appointment of Kurt Thompson and the launch of ABN Impact's fifth office in Asia is crucial to the regional expansion strategy. Indonesia is an increasingly important market for many of our clients and Kurt's appointment will help ensure ABN Impact's pioneering approaches are delivered to good effect.'
