ESOMAR's Asia Pacific Conference Underway

This week sees the fourth annual Asia Pacific conference organised by ESOMAR in Singapore, under the theme 'Facing up to the Globalisation Movement.

This annual conference aims to address the globalisation process which continues to offer promising opportunities and challenges within the region. Topics on global branding and global communication, cultural patterns, segmentation and new business models such as CRM are presented as well as case studies and on-stage in-depth debates and discussions.

Keynote speaker Kenneth Tan has personally moderated more than 3,000 consumer focus groups, and was considered one of the most sought-after researchers in the region during his client servicing days. In January 2001 Mr. Tan became Chief Operating Officer at MediaCorp TV and in July of the same year the Managing Director of Caldecott Productions International. Since April 2002 he has been the Chief Executive Officer at MediaCorp Radio in charge of the management and development of MediaCorp's fifteen radio stations. Tan addressed the conference this morning with the presentation: Multiplex maturity and media liberalisation. Lessons from Singapore for research in the new globalisation age.
