Love's Labour's Lost - Research Seeks Another New Editor
For those MrWeb readers out there looking for a new opportunity, the MRS magazine Research is looking for an Editor to replace Bruce Love, who has recently resigned. Love joined only a year ago, and his appointment was heralded as a boost for the Society's online presence given his experience of developing Internet news services.
An ad placed in The Guardian promises the potential for the right candidate to 'lead the editorial team and the title to their full potential and to further implement editorial and product development'.
Essential attributes for those interested in applying include the following:
- ability to establish personal credibility with the international leaders of a thriving industry.
- ideas for future development, in both print and electronic media.
- proven skills in leading a multi-skilled editorial team.
- all round ability in writing, commissioning, editing and DTP production.
- knowledge of market research or allied media/marketing sectors or the ability to transfer skills and expertise into that sector.
'Stickability' is not mentioned but presumably the ideal candidate will not be planning on going anywhere in the next couple of years. The deadline for applications runs out next Monday 9th December.
