AMAA Finds New CEO
The Audited Media Association of Australia (AMAA) has appointed media industry exec Josanne Ryan as Chief Executive Officer, replacing Paul Dovas who has left after sixteen years' service.
The AMAA was formed two years ago through the merger of the country's Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) and Circulations Audit Board (CAB), and uses those two brands to deliver audited media data including circulation and distribution of print and digital versions, web site analytics, exhibition and conference attendance and e-mail newsletter distribution. In September, it announced that Dovas would be stepping down as CEO to 'pursue other opportunities in digital media', and he is now working in this field as an independent consultant.
Ryan (pictured) joins after a career which has included senior roles with News Corp Australia, and previous experience at publishers ACP Magazines (now Bauer Media Group), Pacific Magazines and Fairfax Media. Most recently, she served as Marketing and Strategy Director of News Community Media and News Corp Australia.
Harley Slatter, Chairman of the AMAA, comments: 'Josanne brings a wealth of media experience to the role with a strong understanding of the value of audited data to the members and the industry. The focus for the AMAA going forward is in evolving the media audit services to better meet the needs of members and the industry in an ever changing landscape.'
