Wealth-X Buys Affluent Market Specialist Ledbury Research
Wealth intelligence specialist Wealth-X has acquired London-based MR consultancy Ledbury Research, which specialises in researching luxury brands and affluent consumers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Mayfair-headquartered Ledbury Research focusses on understanding wealthy consumers and their advisors, by conducting interviews with tens of thousands of HNWIs (high net worth individuals) each year. Most of its work is delivered via bespoke, consultative research projects, but the firm also delivers on-going analysis of key trends in the wealthy population, and the sectors that service them. The company was previously part-owned by Chime Communications, but became wholly private in 2010.
As part of the acquisition, the firm will take on Wealth-X branding, and its co-founder Marc Cohen (pictured) will take up a senior leadership position, reporting to Wealth-X CEO Mykolas Rambus. Ledbury Research's professional staff will continue to report to Director Torie Bold, and to Stuart Rutherford, the firm's Research Director.
Following the takeover, Wealth-X will employ more than 250 professionals across offices in thirteen cities, including London, Singapore and New York. Rambus comments: 'Combining Ledbury's extraordinary market research with Wealth-X's proprietary data, places us in an unrivalled position to address our clients' most strategic needs. This acquisition demonstrates our commitment to expanding in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, while concurrently bringing increased value to our clients globally.'
