Amazon Buys Internet of Things Platform 2lemetry
In the US, online retail giant Amazon has acquired 'Internet of Things' (IoT) platform and tech firm 2lemetry, which helps companies make sense of captured data through predictive computation models and a configurable rules engine. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
2lemetry was founded in 2011 by CEO Kyle Roche (pictured) and CTO Chris Chiappone, and is based in Denver. Its enterprise-level cloud platform - known as Kinesis - tracks and analyzes data in real-time from IP-enabled machines and other connected devices, with sources including web site clickstreams, financial transactions, social media, IT logs, and location-tracking events, and converts it into real-time actionable intelligence.
According to the 2lemetry web site, the firm will retain its existing service / customer support, name and branding.
