Launch and Change at the Top for Ask Afrika
Ask Afrika CEO and founder Andrea Rademeyer has moved back to South Africa, and will reportedly add the responsibilities of Chairman Ken McArthur to her remit as he retires after just ten months in the role. Meanwhile the company is launching a new benchmark survey focused on consumers in the country's townships.
Rademeyer (pictured) returns from Austria after five years, reports www.mediaupdate.co.za . The Pretoria-based company has recently shown strong double-digit growth and is now the largest independent South African MR firm. It also operates in a dozen other African states and owns the local license for global media and brand measurement service Target Group Index (TGI).
Aside from this, the firm is known for large scale field projects and industry benchmarking. This month it will add the new townships-based benchmark, Kasi Star Brands, to a stable currently including Icon Brands and The Ask Afrika Orange Index. It has also begun a partnership with Spanish research agency Cuénde to develop a robust audience measurement currency for the country's out of home (OOH) sector.
McArthur joined after ten years as Nielsen MD.
